Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci has been a byword for restrained Parisian femininity since it was founded in 1932. The style of the fashion house is a perfect balance of classic feminity and romantic soul with just the right touch of modernity.

Nina Ricci (originally Maria Nielli) was born in Turin in 1883. She founded her Haute Couture house in Paris in 1932. In the design atelier and salons for fittings she became famous for her technique, cuts, materials and simplicity.  In 1954, Jules-Francois Crahay succeeded her as Artistic Director and evolved the signature curves of the classic Nina Ricci silhouette. Later on the house went on to develop its “Mademoiselle Ricci” line and a ready-to-wear line.

The Paris fashion house is at this very moment run by Guillaume Henry. He has been able to give the house’s ladylike DNA a fresh, contemporary twist, via streamlined silhouettes and a modern, muted colour palette.

This season Guillaume Henry has created a collection that spans from sheer organza blouses to lace-infused dresses that envisions a woman comfortable in her sesuality. A sumptuous colour palette of eggplant, rust, pewter, and moss-green shades shines through the exquisitely tailored pieces, glimpses of satin sheen and colour-blocking stripes.
